ABOUT US

The Louisa County Rotary Club was chartered on October 28, 1938.  For over eight decades, members of the community have volunteered their time and talents to carry out Rotary's motto, "Service Above Self." Business leaders, doctors, lawyers, and retirees have given of themselves for the betterment of Louisa's youth. Their skillsets have contibuted to an enriched community and institutional history of consistent service.

The Club has completed service local and international service projects, such as provide coats and shoes for children, scholarships for graduating seniors at the high school, support for the high school INTERACT Club (a group of student leaders who perform community service projects), provide support to the “Santa Council”; and many other examples. For current projects, please visit the PROJECTS page of our website.

As the oldest service club in the world, Rotary members have a huge range of opportunities for humanitarian service both locally and internationally.  There are international programs to address health, poverty, illiteracy and the environment.  With 35,000 clubs worldwide, Rotarians find that anywhere they go on the planet, they will be assured of a warm and friendly reception.

THINK YOU ARE TOO BUSY TO BE A ROTARIAN?

WE ACCOMMODATE BUSY SCHEDULES!

Members may attend as few meetings as their busy schedules will allow, some may attend only one meeting a month. There are multiple opportunities to make up missed meetings, including e-clubs, visiting other clubs, and attending Club and Rotary activities, including local service projects and district-wide events.

Louisa Rotarians pay, on average, $25 per month in dues to support Rotary International's service programs.  Each member also pays for their own dinner meal if they choose to eat during the weekly Club program meetings.

Members may make voluntary contributions, from time to time, to support un-budgeted projects and requests for help that arise in our community.  Contribution to these projects is totally voluntary and at each member's discretion.
